Fintan Darragh
I really wished this was some kind of joke, but apparently it's not. Fintan Darragh passed away on 6th of May, 2009 at the age of 21.
I worked with Fintan Darragh for about three months during the summer in 2008. The company I worked for as a contractor was based in Bristol. Fintan was also working for the company during summer holiday.
Fintan was sharing a very large house with about 8 other students, but all of them were away during the summer. I visited their office in Bristol weekly and sometimes I had to stay overnight. He kindly let me stay at the house and we cooked together, had very nice meals and chats. I had such a fun during those three months, but his presence, kindness and hospitality made it even more special.
In this blog's 'links' page, I had a link to his website with a bit of description about him, which goes like this:
'He is one of those people who is young but mature and wise and makes you think god is really being unfair.'
So I guess the god was (if there is any) treating him unfairly up until the end. He was not only intelligent and a very talented software developer, but also charming, sociable and communicable unlike ordinary geeks, like myself. He was so gifted and such a lovely guy. I really really liked him and I will really really miss him.
Fin, I'm really glad I met you. Maybe not too soon, but I'll see you again sometime.

Fin
I had the pleasure of 'meeting' Fin when we were 15 or 16. I was an aspiring young web designer (my interests have since departed from that arena) and we found each others' blogs. Soon enough we were commenting and emailing. Somehow we became good friends... we talked about everything from life to politics and definitely technology. He made me a Mac guy! And we kept in touch... His warmth and cheer and intelligence always astounded me and he always gave me a good laugh. It was nice to read how he touched you. I will miss him greatly.
Such terrible news
I had the pleasure of meeting Fin at Szeged Druplicon. We only met a couple of times there but he was such a nice and kind person, I can't believe this happened. I was surprised reading he was only 21, he was really mature for his age, I thought he was a lot older. He will be dearly missed in the Drupal UK community, rest in peace Fin.
Miss you Fin, i wish you knew
Miss you Fin, i wish you knew me better than you did.
